ABOUT THE CHOIR
Welcome to the Cleveland County Choral Society, a vibrant community choir located in Shelby, NC! Our choir is a place where music lovers of all backgrounds and skill levels come together to create beautiful choral performances. We are proud to be a non-audition choir, welcoming singers from diverse walks of life who share a passion for choral music.

Under the expert guidance of our esteemed director, Kenneth Brooks, and accompanied by the talented pianist Susan Canipe, we explore a repertoire that encompasses both sacred and contemporary choral music. Our performances are a harmonious blend of traditional and modern compositions, creating a captivating musical experience for both our singers and audiences.

Our rehearsal seasons are divided into two semesters, ensuring ample time for musical growth and development. The first semester runs from September to December, while the second semester spans from February to May. Each Tuesday evening during these months, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, we gather at the Aldersgate Methodist Church for our rehearsals.

If you're interested in becoming a member of our close-knit choral community, we warmly invite you to join us during the first four weeks of each semester. Simply attend one of our first three rehearsals and sign up! We believe in the power of inclusivity and provide a supportive environment for singers of all skill levels to learn and grow together.

To help sustain our Choral Society and continue to deliver exceptional musical experiences, we kindly request members to contribute dues each season. Adult members contribute $30, while students contribute $20—a modest investment that goes a long way in supporting our choir and its activities.
